Recruitment AmeriCorps VISTA
Alliance for Community Empowerment (ACE) is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering disadvantaged communities in the San Fernando Valley. They are seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA to enhance outreach, communications, and recruitment infrastructure to strengthen ACE’s organizational capacity. The role involves developing outreach strategies, creating communication materials, and evaluating their effectiveness to support ACE’s mission.
Civic & Social Organization
Responsibilities
Develop a consistent outreach schedule and materials to maintain ongoing engagement with partners and the community
Structure a process for a weekly newsletter for the organization, stakeholders, and the public, promoting available opportunities
Evaluate effectiveness of social media and print materials. Write an evaluative report. Identify data on these efforts, number of people reached and applied based on social media or print materials
Develop outreach strategies to recruit volunteers, interns, or potential candidates
Create a strategy to increase ACE’s exposure to the workforce, deepen current partnerships, and initiate new partnerships
Document all partnerships and services being provided into an easily accessible database
Develop outreach strategies to communicate ACE’s opportunities and programming
Create both digital and print materials for communication and collaborative purposes
Evaluate the effectiveness of communication materials, producing reports with recommendations for improvement
Research and compile resources to support effective communication and collaboration within ACE
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Creative thinker with the ability to design outreach and communication materials
Organized and detail-oriented, with strong documentation skills
Comfortable engaging with community partners, businesses, and diverse stakeholders
Interest in nonprofit development, outreach, recruitment, or human resources
Possess a current California Driver's License, clean DMV record & adequate auto insurance
Must submit to a Department of Justice Criminal background check and a credit check
