Confidential company is seeking a Financial Compliance and Reporting Specialist to manage critical accounting processes and ensure compliance with GAAP and JSOX. The role involves preparing financial reports, conducting reconciliations, and supporting tax compliance, requiring strong analytical skills and expertise in financial principles.

Responsibilities

Complete and oversee some of the most critical Accounting Dept processes including accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

Coordinate the timely and accurate close of the various modules in the ERP system, i.e., Sales, AP, AR, General Ledger, Inventory, etc

Assist with monthly financial statement reports and provide analyses and explanations of balance sheet and income statement variances

Perform inter-company reconciliations, as well as prepare all balance sheet reconciliations for Controller approval

Audit expense reporting using company expense software; Concur SAP

Support preparation and coordination of bi-annual budgets

End-to-end management of Marketing departmental budget funds, including co-op and MDF for ALL SMA territories

Complete schedules or review and approve calculations used to develop manual journal entries, i.e., prepaid, fixed assets, warranty liability percent and amount, slow move percent and amount, RMA reclass, monthly tax provision, etc

Support Accounting Manager with the Avalara process to assure sales and use tax compliance in all states

Assist with ensuring compliance with GAAP and JSOX as well as maintain detailed JSOX documentation

Work on special projects as assigned and ad hoc reporting

Adheres to and upholds all Star Micronics LTD policies
