Guidance Navigation & Control Engineer (Experienced/Senior)
The Boeing Company is a leader in aerospace and defense, and they are seeking a Guidance Navigation & Control Engineer to support their team at Edwards Air Force Base. This role involves supporting new product development, integration, and flight testing in the areas of flight control and subsystem control for the T-7A EMD.

Responsibilities
Support flight simulations, hardware in the loop testing, and flight testing
Participate in design reviews, analyses, simulations and component/system testing to ensure delivery of products that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations
Assist in defining Guidance, Navigation and Control mission requirements and ensure requirements traceability and quality from the system level to component level
Use multidisciplinary model data (aero, mass properties, propulsion, etc.) to develop and refine a complex, nonlinear, 6 degrees of freedom simulation model
Support design of flight control laws using modern linear control design techniques and tools to achieve design and performance targets
Use advanced nonlinear analysis to assess and refine the control law design
Perform model validation against test data to inform and improve the accuracy of the simulation environment
Develop supplementary controllers, limiters, mode logic, and signal shaping to properly bound the performance within all areas of the flight envelope
Work with flight simulation and Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) software engineers to incorporate control laws into the operational flight program
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of working experience with a Bachelor's OR 3+ years with a Masters OR a PhD
Experience with Guidance Navigation and Control engineering
1+ year of experience using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX to model systems
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Preferred
9+ years of working experience with a Bachelor's OR 7+ years with a Masters OR 3+ years with a PhD
3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior experience in flight test support
Experience with simulation, system and component modeling
Experience with implementing algorithms in a real time system
Hardware in the Loop Simulator (HILS) experience
