Test Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company (PacSci EMC) is seeking a Test Engineer Intern to join their Engineering team. This internship provides hands-on experience in testing processes, systems design, and engineering collaboration, impacting critical areas such as space exploration and national defense.

Responsibilities

Design and build new test fixtures to support destructive, shock, and vibration testing
Support Test Engineering tasks and collaborate with team members on lab activities
Work with engineers and technical personnel to resolve testing problems, including product malfunctions, equipment issues, incomplete data, and data interpretation
Assist with the design and implementation of automated test systems and creation of supporting test requirements
Evaluate legacy tooling for productivity improvements and safety enhancements
Support the Test Manager with the creation and revision of departmental processes
Collaborate closely with the Test Team and work alongside Test Technicians during product testing
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required

Junior or senior standing in 2026, currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Strong problem-solving mindset with action orientation and sense of urgency
Effective time management and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a continuous improvement mindset
Innovative, creative, and capable of making sound engineering judgments
Strong communication and customer service skills; responsive and collaborative
Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), function generators, and pressure sensors
Basic understanding of electronic principles (Ohm's Law)
Mechanically inclined with hands-on aptitude
Due to contractual and regulatory requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. PacSci EMC is a U.S. Department of State ITAR-regulated employer. To comply with ITAR-controlled contracts, this position requires U.S. citizenship
