Seat Engineer

GeorgiaTEK Systems Inc. is seeking experienced Complete Seat Engineers to support the design, development, and integration of automotive seating systems. This role involves end-to-end responsibility for seat systems, working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of complete automotive seating systems , including components and assemblies
Create and modify designs using CATIA V5/V6 with strong attention to engineering standards and manufacturability
Design and develop seat components such as:
Seat foam and headrests
Seat plastics
Cables
Lumbar systems
Trim covers
Develop and manage master sections , vehicle integration, packaging studies, and concept layouts
Perform complete seat packaging studies to ensure proper fit, function, and compliance
Support assembly process development for various seat parts
Apply knowledge of tooling concepts and seat manufacturing processes during design
Prepare, release, and maintain engineering documentation , including change management records
Develop and maintain Design Validation Plans (DVP) and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
Ensure designs meet regulatory and certification requirements , including applicable FMVSS standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and vehicle engineering

Required

Strong knowledge of automotive seating system design and development
High proficiency in CATIA V5/V6
Hands-on experience with seat system components and assemblies
Solid understanding of vehicle integration, packaging, and master sections
Knowledge of seat manufacturing methods, tooling, and assembly processes
Familiarity with FMVSS regulations related to seating systems
Experience creating and maintaining DVPs and DFMEAs
Ability to work independently while coordinating across teams

Preferred

Prior experience working with OEMs or Tier 1 automotive suppliers
Exposure to EV programs or advanced vehicle platforms
Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
