The Mechanical Engineer will engage in engineering assignments, ensuring compliance with standards and solving engineering challenges to support innovative projects.
Responsibilities
Perform standard and non-standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks resolution of field problems and resolution of quality events
Solve a range of straightforward problems, analyze solutions and assess each using standard procedures
Ensure compliance with government regulations, organization, industry and customer engineering standards with support of senior staff
Independently evaluate, select and apply standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications for tasks previously performed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 2 years of related experience
Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria
Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills
Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships, work collaboratively within a team environment
Good problem identification and problem resolution skills
Knowledge of component engineering & ASME Code as well as quickly gains technical knowledge, including a practical
Technical supplier oversight skills such as high attention to detail in the preparation and review of work products with the intent of first-time quality
Preferred
Degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted
