Responsibilities

Responsible for the technical review of hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) engineering studies

Client liaison with communities involved in floodplain studies

Provision of floodplain and floodway submittals

Providing modeling of floodplains and floodways utilizing watershed modeling programs

Responsible for reviewing new hydrologic and hydraulic computer models for their technical accuracy and compliance with FEMA requirements

Act as a resource and mentor for more junior staff

Active participant in the flood management community, working to enhance Dewberry’s reputation and solidify market leadership

Required

A Masters degree in Surface water modeling or similar discipline, a PhD is highly preferred

10+ years of experience in hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) modeling

Extensive experience with at least 3 of the following engineering modeling programs: FESWMS, RMA-2, FEQ, SWMM, XP-SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and TR-20

A Professional Engineer license (PE)

Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)

Experience with the FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program, including Flood Study Reviews preferred

Experience Mentoring Junior Engineering staff

A track record of active participation in the flood management or water resources community including published papers, presentations, and active organizational membership
