Responsibilities
Drives transit system bus to transport passengers along assigned route; observes traffic safety rules; maintains transit schedules
Greets boarding passengers; collects fares and transfers; ensures passengers enter and exit bus safely; provides information/directions; maintains order on bus; assists elderly and passengers with disabilities as needed
Performs pre-trip inspections; sweeps bus daily and empties trash cans; fuels bus as directed
Prepares accident reports, vehicle maintenance reports, and incident reports; maintains accurate passenger count; submits to supervisor
Responds as appropriate to emergency situations or vehicle breakdowns
Consults with other operators regarding transfers
Operates two-way radio to provide information or receive advice/direction
Performs other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Two (2) years previous experience and/or training involving bus driving required
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) including appropriate endorsement(s)
