Reviewing designs for accuracy, quality, and safety considerations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (BSCE) or equivalent from an accredited college or university
Four years (minimum) of relevant experience in low and mid-rise building design
Professional engineering license in North Carolina (or via reciprocity). A S.E. license is preferred
Work individually or in a team under the guidance of a supervisor in an office environment
Collaborate with other structural designers to produce contract documents and specifications
Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed design calculations based on client needs, sketches, and/or architectural drawings
Coordinate structural designs with multiple discipline-specific project team members
Capable of delivering quality design services within a managed schedule
Effective communication and independent decision making
Conduct quality assurance of completed work product
Attend meetings with clients and design partners during all phases of the work
Review contractor submittals and resolve construction issues
Occasionally perform field measuring and inspections
