Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain complex software applications
Lead development across the full software lifecycle
Translate stakeholder requirements into scalable technical solutions
Perform code reviews and ensure quality, security, and compliance standards
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and system issues
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, project managers, and IT teams
Create and maintain technical documentation and system artifacts
Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and process improvement

Required

8+ years of professional software development experience
Strong proficiency in one or more modern languages (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, etc.)

Solid understanding of software architecture, APIs, and system integrations
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
U.S. Citizenship required
Ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance

Preferred

Experience supporting DOE, NNSA, DoD, or other federal programs
Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
Knowledge of secure software development and cybersecurity best practices
Experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical initiatives
Agile or hybrid development experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Advanced degree or certifications a plus
