Field Service Representative

Talos Mission Solutions is seeking experienced Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Field Service Representatives to support the operation and sustainment of aerostat systems. This role involves being a critical member of the flight and maintenance team, responsible for system launch, flight, recovery operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of aerostat platforms.

Responsibilities

Serve as a senior flight crew member for aerostat line handling, launch, in-flight monitoring, and recovery
Conduct pre- and post-flight inspections, helium handling/topping, weather observations, tether inspections, and all emergency procedures for moored and airborne operations
Direct emplacement, displacement, and site survey activities to ensure operational readiness
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair: Aerostat structures, envelope fabric, and mooring systems, Hydraulic and pneumatic subsystems, Mechanical ground support systems, including winches, towing, and anchoring equipment, Electro-mechanical components, fiber optics, avionics, and electrical wiring, Power generation and distribution (generators, cabling, switchgear)
Perform corrective and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure system reliability
Operate standard and specialized test equipment; conduct calibration and limited site-level repair activities
Supervise and mentor technicians during operations and maintenance tasks
Provide troubleshooting direction both onsite and remotely (phone/email support)
Deliver on-the-job training to host nation and U.S. personnel on aerostat systems and procedures
Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and accountability for all hardware repairs and replacements
Document maintenance actions, test results, and operational reports
Implement approved engineering change proposals, modifications, and upgrades
Support accident/incident investigations and root cause analysis
Enforce compliance with all safety, security, and operational procedures during aerostat activities

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent military/civilian technical training
Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in aerostat, ISR platform, or related mechanical/electro-mechanical systems
Cross-discipline technical skills with the ability to lead mixed teams of technicians
Current DoD Secret Clearance (active)
Strong ability to work independently in OCONUS environments

Preferred

Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one core system area (mechanical, hydraulics, electro-mechanical, or electrical systems)
