Responsibilities
Provide technical and people leadership for multi-disciplinary engineering teams producing FTTH, metro, and long-haul fiber designs
Convert program goals into actionable scope, schedules, capacity models, and margin targets
Standardize workflows and KPIs—productivity, first-pass yield, SLA adherence—across regions
Partner with construction, permitting, and customer success teams to remove roadblocks and keep projects on track
Drive continuous improvement by introducing automation, GIS optimization, and other process enhancements that reduce rework
Serve as senior engineering voice with clients, agencies, and utilities—owning status reports, technical escalations, and bid inputs
Recruit, mentor, and retain managers, team leads, and high-potential engineers—building a pipeline of future leaders
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards for outside-plant design
Qualification
Required
10+ years of progressive fiber network engineering experience within telecom, utility, or EPC environments
5+ years leading multi-site engineering teams (managing managers)
Expert knowledge of FTTH and OSP best practices (make-ready, pole & conduit routing, permitting workflows, GIS-based design)
Proven success managing dashboards, KPIs, and budgets in a rapid-growth setting
Proficiency with modern GIS, CAD, or workflow/automation platforms
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Preferred
Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
Experience supporting hyperscale data-center interconnect or federal broadband funding programs
Background recruiting and managing geographically distributed or outsourced engineering resources
