Responsibilities
Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting package to the executive team, investors, and other stakeholders
Collaborate with the leadership team to prepare and manage financial forecasts and budgets, financial models, and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making
Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, fixed assets, processing payroll, equity administration, general ledger entries, liability insurance management, balance sheet reconciliations, and income statement fluctuation analysis
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax filings, and other statutory obligations
Develop and implement scalable accounting policies, procedures, and systems
Monitor and manage company cash flow, working capital, and liquidity
Develop strategies to optimize cash flow, ensuring the company’s financial stability and ability to fund growth initiatives
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy
Continuously review and improve financial systems, processes, and reporting mechanisms to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
Additional support and management of Human Resources programs
Partner with the executive team to drive financial planning and analysis (FP&A), identifying key performance metrics and supporting business strategies
Provide financial insights for strategic decision-making, including fundraising, product development, and expansion plans
Support the leadership team in preparation of investor reports, presentations and outreach
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a financial Controller role, ideally in a start-up environment
Strong understanding of US GAAP requirements
Experience with financial reporting, modeling, budgeting, and forecasting
Proven record of accomplishment in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Strong proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar) and financial reporting tools
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment with a hands-on approach
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred
CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred
