Chief Financial Officer
Watt Talent Solutions-Recruiting is a well-established mid-sized construction organization in the Southwest region, seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. The CFO will provide strategic financial leadership to ensure the company’s fiscal health and operational efficiency, overseeing all financial operations and serving as a key advisor to the CEO and Board of Owners.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with corporate goals and growth initiatives
Partner with the CEO and executive team to support long-term business planning and capital structure optimization
Provide strategic recommendations on financial performance, growth opportunities, and risk mitigation
Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and corporate policies
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and audit coordination
Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support ongoing operations and future investments
Maintain and enhance cost accounting systems, including job costing and variance analysis
Collaborate with operations leadership to improve margins and identify profit enhancement opportunities
Analyze financial performance and KPIs to provide actionable recommendations that drive profitability and cash-flow improvements
Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting efforts
Analyze budget variances, identify key drivers, and recommend corrective actions
Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decisions
Implement and manage strong internal controls to safeguard company assets
Oversee insurance, treasury, credit, and risk management functions
Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory standards
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team
Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Estimating, and Marketing
Build trust with senior management and external partners
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a senior finance role within construction, engineering, or manufacturing
Demonstrated experience with cost accounting, ERP systems, and change management
Strong strategic thinking, analytical ability, and business acumen
Expertise in cost reduction, cash flow management, and financial analysis
Proven ability to lead modernization efforts through technology, standardized processes, and best practices
Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
High integrity, transparency, and commitment to ethical financial stewardship
