Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance on tax legislation and rules under chapters 3 and 61, and advise stakeholders on the implementation of tax legislation as it relates to tax information reporting and withholding
Support business and product units to ensure continued understanding and compliance with existing information reporting withholding requirements. Support internal personnel with responses to government notices, assessments, and requests for information
Provide recommendations to businesses, tax operations, and engineers on upgrades, modifications, or development of new systems, processes, and procedures
Work with international tax and product counsel to make tax character and sourcing recommendations on new products
Advise on transactions that fall under Section 6050W and the associated Form 1099-K requirements, review tax information returns for validity and accuracy with tax operations, and manage compliance with FATCA and CRS including working with external advisors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent practical experience
10 years of experience in tax, with experience in information reporting and withholding
Preferred
Juris Doctor, Master's degree in Taxation, or CIRS Certification
Experience working with the IRS or state taxing authorities related to information reporting matters
Experience in tax information reporting and withholding, working in a public accounting firm, law firm, government, or corporate tax department, with technical expertise in the areas of chapters 3, 4, and 61
