Documentation Manager / Technical Writer

Responsibilities

Create comprehensive technical documentation for the time and attendance application, including user manuals, installation guides, and system administration guides
Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and understand the application's functionality and features
Translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise written materials
Organize and structure documentation for ease of use and reference
Maintain documentation accuracy by updating it with new features, changes, and enhancements
Establish and maintain a documentation management system for the time and attendance application
Develop and implement documentation standards, templates, and version control processes
Ensure proper storage, organization, and accessibility of documentation for internal teams and stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, review, and update documentation as needed
Develop and implement configuration management processes and procedures for the time and attendance application
Manage and track software and hardware configurations, versions, and changes
Coordinate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth configuration deployments and releases
Ensure compliance with configuration management standards and best practices
Conduct regular audits and reviews to verify the accuracy and integrity of configurations
Manage change control processes for the time and attendance application
Evaluate and assess the impact of proposed changes and coordinate their implementation
Collaborate with development and operations teams to plan and execute smooth deployments and releases
Ensure proper documentation and communication of changes to relevant stakeholders
Monitor and manage change requests, ensuring adherence to change management procedures
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security standards, and data protection policies relevant to the financial sensitivity of the application
Conduct risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities or gaps in documentation, configuration, or processes
Implement mitigation measures to address identified risks and ensure application security and integrity
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to address audit requirements and maintain compliance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, project managers, and stakeholders, to gather information and provide documentation support
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify information, and address feedback
Foster strong working relationships with internal teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation

Required

Excellent written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely
Strong attention to detail, grammar, and formatting to ensure accurate and professional documentation
Proficiency in creating user manuals, installation guides, system administration guides, and other technical documentation
Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and gather information to produce comprehensive technical documentation
Experience in establishing and maintaining a documentation management system, including standards, templates, and version control processes
Strong organizational skills to effectively store, organize, and manage documentation for easy accessibility
Familiarity with documentation management tools and platforms
Proven experience in configuration management, including the establishment and implementation of configuration management processes and procedures
Familiarity with configuration management tools and practices to track software and hardware configurations, versions, and changes
Knowledge of configuration management best practices, standards, and compliance requirements
Understanding of change management principles and processes, including assessing the impact of proposed changes and coordinating their implementation
Ability to work closely with development and operations teams to plan and execute smooth deployments and releases
Knowledge of change management tools and practices
Familiarity with regulatory requirements, security standards, and data protection policies relevant to the financial sensitivity of the application
Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to address identified risks
Knowledge of compliance frameworks and audit requirements
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technical Writing, or a related field
In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, 6 years of additional relevant work experience, or Associates Degree plus 4 years of additional relevant work experience

Preferred

Certified Configuration Manager (CCM) or Configuration Management Professional (CMP)
Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) or Certified Document Specialist (CDS)
