Responsibilities

Installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle database systems to ensure high performance, security, and availability
Designing and implementing database schemas, monitors database health, and performs routine backups and recovery operations to safeguard mission-critical data
Troubleshooting database-related issues, managing user access and permissions, and optimizing queries to enhance system performance
Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and industry standards while staying current on updates, patches, and advancements in Oracle technologies
Providing technical reviews of design and development specifications of software applications, systems, and other engineering artifacts and develop or maintaining those artifacts as required in the systems engineering process
Supporting the certification, maintenance, and testing of software applications and the integration of complex software systems, as well as providing comments, recommendations, status, etc
Supporting the delivery of software, installation, configuration and testing, and problem resolution and maintenance, including all procedures/timelines to achieve approval to test and promote new or updated software to production
Advising the Government to ensure compliance with applicable standards, participating in developing new standards, and helping improve existing standards
Assessing technical and architectural changes for impact on IPT-specific software, other command-level systems, and the enterprise
Assessing items such as processes, products, contractor-developed solutions, baseline changes, Remedy Change Requests, etc., and providing comments /recommendations as necessary
Supporting development of program documents (support plans, strategies, assessments, requirements documents)
Using approved processes (e.g., Systems Engineering Plan (SEP)) and participating in and providing support (e.g., prepare briefing or written material) for program management and technical reviews
Supporting the Program Chief Engineer and engineering authorities as requested through the program office
Possessing knowledge of acquisition streamlining initiatives and acquisition reforms (e.g., NDAA Section 804, DoD and USSTRATCOM initiatives)
Providing direct support to the Test and Enterprise System Branch, working with the PM, FM, and Chief Engineer
Supporting the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) process for placing new deliveries into production
Assisting in reviewing or proposing inputs to Requests for Proposal (RFP) artifacts and source selection-related documents such as Acquisition Plans, LCMP, and Acquisition Strategy
Integrating user community requirements, desired capabilities, and characteristics to support injection into the requirements/capabilities generation, planning, and programming processes and documents
Reviewing associated documentation and software for compliance with configuration management procedures, testing policies, and designing as stated in current directives
Providing analyses of interface requirements for applications based on recommendations from modernization efforts
Providing full spectrum support for the programs including the development of test plans and test reports, assisting and coordinating test events with interested parties (program office, contractor, user, AFOTEC, external agencies)
Assisting in the security evaluation of program information and hardware throughout the program life cycle

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in support of the DoD
Experience working with Ansible playbooks and automation
Completing Oracle updates and patches, and supporting Oracle Database changes to include data, schema, triggers, and tables
Experience in supporting Oracle Database changes to include data, schema, triggers, and tables
Automation coding using Python
Experience supporting Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Strong knowledge and experience of DoD and AF acquisition processes, policies, procedures, and statutory/regulatory requirements
Strong knowledge and experience implementing the DoD Systems Engineering 'V' Model
US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance
