The role involves managing SBLC transactions, leading client onboarding, and ensuring compliance with financial guidelines while serving as a trusted advisor to corporate finance clients.

Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for corporate finance clients using SBLC products

Lead client onboarding as a standby letter of credit client, including terms and conditions

Work directly with clients to understand their needs and design appropriate SBLC solutions

Manage SBLC transactions from initial structuring through finalization, then hand off to downstream teams

Support clients across multiple lines of business (LOBs), requiring frequent context switching

Own the processing and operational execution of SBLCs, including:

Evergreen SBLCs

Transferable SBLCs

Import and Export Letters of Credit

Ensure transactions comply with applicable guidelines, rules, and legal requirements (e.g., ISP, UCP where applicable)

Understand and apply distinctions such as UCP vs. ISP frameworks

Qualification

Required

Strong operations background in Trade Finance, specifically Standby Letters of Credit

Prior SBLC experience in operations (sales or product-only backgrounds are not sufficient)

Demonstrated experience negotiating SBLC language with clients and legal teams

Working knowledge of Standby Letters of Credit

Working knowledge of Import and Export Letters of Credit

Working knowledge of Evergreen and transferable structures

Working knowledge of trade finance rules and guidelines (e.g., UCP, ISP)

Ability to serve as a trusted client advisor while managing operational risk

Experience supporting multiple lines of business simultaneously
