Web Software Developer (MicrobeTrace – Full-Stack)
Precise Software Solutions, Inc. is an innovative small business that delivers quality services and solutions to government organizations. They are seeking a Web Software Developer (MicrobeTrace – Full-Stack) to design, develop, enhance, and maintain web applications supporting public health data visualization and pathogen genomics. The role involves collaborating with CDC scientists and ensuring compliance with IT governance and security standards.
Responsibilities
Integrate front-end components with back-end services and data sources
Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability across environments
Support troubleshooting, defect resolution, and continuous improvement activities
Ensure applications comply with CDC IT security, privacy, and data protection requirements
Support CDC EPLC documentation, reviews, and approvals as required
Implement and maintain Section 508 / WCAG accessibility compliance for all web interfaces
Apply secure coding practices and support vulnerability remediation
Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance of web applications in Azure-hosted environments
Assist with version control, release management, and environment coordination
Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and operational support activities
Work closely with CDC program staff, informatics leadership, and technical teams to ensure solutions align with mission needs
Prepare technical documentation, design artifacts, and user guidance
Support demonstrations, stakeholder briefings, and knowledge transfer activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
Minimum 3–5 years of web application development experience, including full-stack development
Hands-on experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Angular
Experience deploying and supporting applications on Apache Tomcat and Apache HTTP Server
Experience working in cloud environments (Azure preferred)
Knowledge of secure coding practices and web application security fundamentals
Preferred
Experience supporting MicrobeTrace, public health, or bioinformatics-related applications
Experience supporting CDC, HHS, NIH, FDA, or other federal public health programs
Familiarity with public health data visualization or analytics tools
Experience supporting Agile or CDC EPLC-based development environments
Experience with accessibility standards (Section 508 / WCAG)
