Sr. Network Engineer

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability, while also mentoring junior engineers and leading network architecture initiatives.

Responsibilities
Engage and partner with the customer on strategy and planning of network infrastructure and initiatives
Architect, design, and deploy enterprise-grade LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless networks
Develop and implement network security strategies, including firewall policies, VPN configurations, and intrusion prevention systems
Configure and optimize Cisco routers, switches, and Fortinet firewalls for high availability and performance
Implement advanced routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and Layer 2/Layer 3 technologies (MPLS, VLAN, STP, EtherChannel)
Manage network security tools and enforce security policies in alignment with compliance standards
Perform vulnerability assessments and implement remediation plans
Proactively monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve complex issues
Lead root cause analysis for critical incidents and provide escalation support
Maintain comprehensive documentation of network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
Ensure adherence to ITIL best practices for Incident, Problem, and Change Management
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams
Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to evaluate new technologies and solutions

Qualification
Required
7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking, including design, implementation, and troubleshooting
3+ years managing 3rd party vendors and telco/carrier level contacts
4+ years engaging with directly with customers providing high levels of customer satisfaction
Proven expertise in Cisco networking technologies and Fortinet security solutions
Strong background in routing and switching, network security, and high-availability architectures
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to manage and guide others in effective triage and troubleshooting
Experience communicating to technical and non-technical audiences. Experience communicating from end users up to influencing at the CIO level
Proven ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly. Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment with the ability to multi-task between needs
Networking: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN, QoS
Routing & Switching: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, Layer 2/3 switching, EtherChannel, STP/RSTP
Security: Firewall configuration (Fortinet, Cisco ASA), IPS/IDS, NAT, ACLs, VPN technologies
Wireless: Enterprise wireless solutions and security protocols
Cloud & Virtualization: Azure, VMware, AWS networking integration
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Certifications such as: Cisco CCNP required
Preferred
Fortinet NSE-5 or higher preferred
Other technical certifications are a plus: AWS, Azure, or other cloud storage preferred
ITIL V3 or above preferred
