Entry Level Data Center Technician

The role involves assisting senior technicians in building out network infrastructure, including pulling cable and fiber, terminating low-voltage devices, and adhering to quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities
Drop cable down walls using fish tape or other methods; route cable through data centers
Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, dress, and label cables; determine length and slack
Suspend and support cable using trays, J-hooks, D-rings, bridal rings, trapeze
Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cables
Perform fire-stopping procedures on firewalls; install sleeves and pull cable through penetrations
Terminate low-voltage devices
Follow prints and complete all required paperwork accurately and on time
Adhere to company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Basic knowledge or willingness to learn: CAT5/CAT6 cabling, telecommunications, punch-down, terminations, cable trays
Comfortable working with tools and performing physical tasks
Preferred
Hands-on experience in landscaping, general labor, material handling, or construction
Trade school graduates seeking practical experience
Punctual, reliable, and a team player
Flexible with hours; may work 10-hour days if needed
