SEEAG Program Intern
Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG) is seeking interns to support their educational programs focused on agricultural education and community engagement. Interns will assist in delivering hands-on learning experiences, managing program materials, and supporting marketing efforts for community events.
Responsibilities
Support hands-on lessons and field trips by assisting educators with classroom and farm-based activities, student engagement, and overall lesson delivery
Prepare, organize, and maintain materials including classroom supplies, produce, teaching tools, learning stations, signage, shade structures, and other logistical needs before and after lessons
Provide general program support, such as inventory tracking, equipment organization, light garden or farm-site maintenance, event assistance, and basic administrative tasks
Help collect and create weekly content for the Farm-to-Food Lab program based on social media requests. Assist in editing and preparing Instagram posts and Blog Posts
Help streamline and organize SEEAG’s digital folders by locating duplicates and outdated items, creating consistent folder structures and naming conventions, and moving, merging, or deleting files as directed
Assist in designing and uploading student-facing worksheets, recipe cards, and sensory activity sheets. Prepare reproducible teacher templates that include clear instructions and materials lists
Support STEM classroom delivery by assisting educators with lesson setup, lab activities, student engagement, and logistics for middle- and high-school programs
Assist with preparing, organizing, and maintaining program materials, including STEM lab supplies, digital files, photos, templates, and classroom resources used in lessons and workshops
Assist with program coordination, such as outreach support for the Fields of Innovation Research Competition, communication with school partners, and simple administrative tasks
Organizing photo/video archives for STEM programming
Updating online listings with accurate opportunities for students and alumni
Building a complete classroom set with photos, scientific names, and descriptions
Support outreach, communications, and marketing efforts by helping create and schedule content, drafting captions, gathering photos, and maintaining simple analytics
Assist with Farm Day logistics and partner coordination, including outreach to participating farms, updating event information, organizing visitor resources, and contributing to day-of preparations
Contribute to event operations, such as assisting with setup, greeting guests, guiding visitors, collecting feedback, and supporting volunteer coordination as needed
Provide general program and administrative support, including organizing materials, attending weekly meetings, documenting event progress, and representing SEEAG positively in the community
Creating and planning social media content to promote Farm Day events, partners, and educational themes; tracking engagement; organizing photos; and contributing to SEEAG’s content library
Designing visitor surveys, analyzing feedback from participants and farm partners, and producing insights to improve signage, wayfinding, communication, and event flow for future Farm Days
Supporting volunteer recruitment, communication, documentation, and post-event feedback to strengthen Farm Day volunteer systems and improve event-day support
Qualification
Required
Minimum age 18; high-school graduate, current undergraduate, or graduate student
Demonstrated interest in agriculture, environmental education, communications, or nonprofit work
Reliable transportation required for on-site activities across Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties
Preferred
Prior volunteer or community engagement experience preferred but not required
