Responsibilities
Represents the Quality Manager in his absence on current production concerns
Conduct/facilitates problem solving. Customer plant visits/8-D reports Supplier concern auditor SPC analysis
Interfaces with plant, engineering, customer, supplier, and production personnel to enhance introduction of new parts into production. Member of the Plant’s APQP Core Team in planning for quality on new parts
Handle and tracks sample submissions as needed, including writing and updating control plans, FMEA’s, inspection check sheet, reports, etc
Coordinates prototype documentation, tagging, and shipment
Conducts new employee quality orientation as needed
Has the authority to stop production operations, concerning plant quality or safety issues
Treats all other team members with respect and dignity
If assigned, assists with internal EMS auditing and multiple other areas as directed
Performs other essential functions as assigned
Qualification
Required
good understanding of advanced quality planning disciplines
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and environment
Computer literate
self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication
Preferred
four (4) year college degree in engineering or business related field, or equivalent work experience
four (4) years minimum experience in a quality position in the automotive industry
ASQ Certification (CQM, CQE, or CQA)
Six Sigma Certification (green belt or higher)
