Responsibilities

Develop detailed scopes of work, design inputs, engineering evaluations, installation plans, and post-installation testing requirements for engineering change packages (ECPs)
Design and analyze civil/structural components such as:
Piping systems and supports
Equipment foundations and structural anchorage
Component mounting structures
Seismic qualifications and weak link evaluations
Lead or support the development and revision of:
Engineering calculations
Design basis documents
Technical requirements and specifications
CAD drawings and regulatory compliance documentation
Perform field walkdowns and provide engineering support during implementation and post-modification testing
Support or lead the safety evaluation and 10 CFR 50.59 screening process
Participate in peer reviews and design verifications in compliance with nuclear quality assurance programs
Ensure deliverables are aligned with project milestones, site requirements, and industry standards
Interface with multiple stakeholders to coordinate design efforts and resolve technical issues
Be available for occasional off-hour support during field implementation phases

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BSCE) or equivalent engineering discipline with relevant structural focus
Minimum of 10 years of civil/structural engineering experience within the nuclear industry, particularly involving engineering change or design modifications
Demonstrated experience developing ECPs for nuclear facilities, including supporting calculations and field implementation
Strong understanding of U.S. nuclear regulatory requirements, design codes, and site modification procedures
Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear facility (includes training, background clearance, and drug/alcohol screening)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present complex ideas clearly
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a high degree of technical judgment

Preferred

Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE)
Prior experience working at or supporting the Brunswick Nuclear Plant or similar facilities
Hands-on experience with 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations and nuclear plant configuration management
Familiarity with design codes such as ASCE, ACI, AISC, and NRC Regulatory Guides
Prior qualification as a Modification Engineer or Design Verification Engineer within a nuclear environment
