Responsibilities
Leading the laboratory’s chemical/radiochemical development program
Acquiring funding
Obtain all preliminary data needed for extramural grant applications
Write/submit full applications as principal investigator or co-principal investigator
Interfacing extensively with cyclotron personnel as well as regulatory bodies including the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
Qualification
Required
Appointees in the Professional Research series must possess a doctorate or its equivalent in organic chemistry and/or radiochemistry

Preferred
The successful applicant will have advanced training in chemistry, radiochemistry, analytic techniques, microbiology and animal models
Experience writing peer-reviewed publications and grant applications
Outstanding communication skills to organize the efforts of junior personnel
Experience with the translation of PET radiopharmaceuticals is essential to this role
Ability to develop new research directions independently
Strong history of scientific collaboration and potential to develop a sustained source of research funding
Excellent (high impact) publications in chemistry, radiochemistry, and imaging sciences
Principal investigator for a grant
Completion of post-doctoral fellowship
