Global Power Components is a privately held, financially sound, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks and trailers. They are looking for a motivated Material Coordinator to implement improvement projects, coordinate material flow, and ensure project completion according to schedule.

Responsibilities

Implement improvement projects at department locations with guidance from supervisor
Help create and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for preproduction and material handing operations
Perform audits of department areas, operations, and inventory records
Work with vendors to coordinate the delivery of material and address discrepancies
Help coordinate the flow of material between company production facilities and warehouses
Proactively identify and resolve material issues with projects in production
Schedule preproduction assembly work to align with master schedule priorities and dates
Work with Purchasing to source material for projects
Work with shop floor personnel to ensure that projects are being completed according to schedule

Required

High school diploma or GED
3+ years work experience or college degree in a relevant field
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Must have valid driver's license and vehicle. Travel between GPC facilities will be required
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Willingness to work in a team environment or solo interchangeably

Preferred

Experience in electrical material supply chain
