Copywriter & Email Marketer
The School of Hard Knocks is a fast-growing media and education company specializing in viral business content. They are seeking a Copywriter & Email Marketer to drive awareness and new member acquisition through effective written content and email marketing strategies.

Responsibilities
Write and schedule 3–5 emails per week to the SOM list
Create value emails, story-driven content, and direct response campaigns
Promote weekly events, introduce new mentors, and drive trials & conversions
Track performance metrics and continually optimize open/click rates
Write compelling posts that promote: Upcoming millionaire/billionaire events, Member wins, Mentor stories, Key lessons & insights, Community highlights
Optimize posts for each platform’s style, cadence, and culture
Help build a content engine on the School of Mentors page that turns viewers into paying members
Manage weekly content themes, hooks, ideas, and CTA strategy
Collaborate with editors and designers to implement your ideas
Use insights from the main channel to inform conversion-focused content
“Weaponize” our army of affiliates by providing: Plug-and-play promo copy, Short promotions, Event push templates, Weekly affiliate updates
Build systems that allow affiliates to drive predictable MRR
Run experiments across email, posts, funnels, and content
Optimize manychat sequences
Analyze performance and communicate insights clearly
Build simple systems the rest of the team can scale
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in direct response copywriting (emails + social posts)
Strong grasp of audience psychology, storytelling, and conversion principles
Experience managing email marketing, newsletters, or written content calendars
Ability to create high-output written content at speed
Understanding of social media culture (FB, LinkedIn, YouTube)
Highly organized with strong execution skills
Passion for business, entrepreneurship, and online education
Preferred
Experience with affiliate marketing or referral-driven programs
Experience writing content for communities, creators, or coaching programs
Familiarity with analytics tools and email platforms
Understanding of event-based promotions and online funnels
Experience working in a fast-paced creator, media, or education environment
Basic experience collaborating with designers/editors (you don't need to design yourself)
