Engineering Technician, Failure Analysis, Analytical Services

Responsibilities
Support materials engineers on analyzing failures in electromechanical components
Assist with sample preparation techniques including cross-sectioning, polishing, and mounting for metallographic examination
Perform basic materials testing using tools such as optical microscopy, hardness testers, and profilometers
Help with analytical methods like Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), TGA, FTIR or Gass Chromatography/ Mass Spectroscopy (GC/MS) to characterize material properties
Maintain lab equipment and workflows for non-destructive and destructive evaluations
Collaborate with teams to document findings and support root cause investigations
Learn and apply entry-level materials analysis methods in a dynamic environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
0-2 years in lab or technical support roles
Basic familiarity with materials characterization tools such as microscopes, hardness testers, or spectroscopy equipment
Eagerness to learn new techniques quickly and contribute in fast-paced settings
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to handle basic mechanical tasks and follow safety protocols
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and handle chemicals safely
