Computer Aided Design Designer
PTS Advance is seeking an Assistant Civil Detailer to support a diverse portfolio of civil and infrastructure projects. This role involves preparing detailed drawings using sketches and engineering notes under the direction of experienced engineers.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning and preparing detailed civil drawings using standardized drafting techniques
Develop initial design models by combining drawings, calculations, and design concepts from engineers
Apply company, client, and project drafting standards and procedures
Prepare control schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment connection diagrams
Coordinate with engineers and project managers to verify design requirements and resolve issues
Support drawing production including layout, detailing, drafting, and revisions
Collaborate with designers and drafters across multiple disciplines
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients
Maintain CAD proficiency and continue developing skills in current design systems
Perform other duties as assigned while complying with company policies and standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Drafting Technology or related field plus 2 years of experience
Associate degree plus 3 years of related experience
High School Diploma/GED plus 4 years of progressive detailing and design experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel
Ability to work with both 2D and 3D design applications
Basic knowledge of civil design principles, calculations, and design systems
Understanding of engineering fundamentals and cross-disciplinary coordination
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-discipline project team environment
