Responsibilities

Improving the overall safety of the plant’s equipment and processes
Providing technical support for the maintenance of complex diagnostic procedures, training programs, preventative maintenance programs, and equipment breakdowns
Provide troubleshooting support for plant equipment
Providing specialized technical expertise for the application and use of mechanical technology for plant facilities and processes
Planning, scheduling, and coordinating equipment installations
Providing engineering and consultation services in terms of diagnosis and solutions to difficult operating and maintenance problems including performing root cause analysis with the goal of equipment reliability
Provide continuous safe operation of mechanical equipment in area assigned by identifying potential issues and taking appropriate steps to suspend operation and provide repair solutions
Training technical training and coaching for maintenance supervisors, and craft personnel in area assigned
Driving continuous improvement activities to eliminate all waste, especially as it relates to equipment downtime, safety, work practices, and employee involvement
Performing and/or directing the design, development, installation, cost control, and evaluation of complex engineering projects
Writing and/or approving engineering specifications, designs, estimates, schedules, spare parts lists, quotations, requisitions, work orders, etc
Developing and preparing Request for Authorizations RFAs to secure approval for capital engineering projects
Monitoring and managing these capital projects’ financial changes against the approved financial budget to avoid exceeding the authorized amount and expected timeline
Preparing documentation, such as engineering and project status reports, as required
Carry these capital projects from their conception through completion
Providing engineering innovations intended to increase productivity, reliability and availability of plant equipment and facilities, while observing the operating areas to maintain the knowledge of the current operating conditions
Continuing to hone the craft of project management, engineering, and processes (project and reliability engineering) within assigned area of responsibility
Performing other duties as assigned

Required

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with 5 or more years of experience
Knowledge in design and project planning software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks and/or Microsoft Project
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred

A Project Management Certification (PMP)
5 or more years of experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment
Basic knowledge and understanding of industrial hydraulics, including the ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics and the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve hydraulic circuits
The ability to effectively communicate (verbally and written) and delegate while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables
A high degree of interpersonal skills to motivate and influence others, including those not under their direct supervision
Demonstrated abilities of problem solving, systems thinking, project management, and team building
