Legal Practice Assistant - Litigation

They are seeking a Legal Practice Assistant – Litigation to provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling complex, high-profile matters in both state and federal courts.
Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and revising legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, memoranda, and reports
Formatting and filing documents in California state and federal courts (electronic and in-person)
Preparing Tables of Authorities (TOAs) and Tables of Contents (TOCs)
Managing attorney calendars and deadlines using legal calendaring systems (e.g., CompuLaw)
Coordinating closely with attorneys, staff, and peers to ensure compliance with best practices
Maintaining composure, accuracy, and efficiency during high-volume and deadline-driven work
Supporting litigation matters from initial pleadings through discovery, motions, trial, and appeal
Utilizing legal technology and document management systems efficiently
Providing professional, courteous communication with clients and internal teams
Qualification
Required
Minimum 7 years of experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant
Litigation experience in California state and federal courts (required)
Strong knowledge of court rules, filings, TOAs/TOCs, and calendaring
Experience supporting trial and litigation attorneys
High School Diploma is required
Preferred
Bachelor's degree is preferred
Prior California litigation experience required; appellate experience is a plus
Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proven ability to prioritize, anticipate needs, and meet tight deadlines
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
