Responsibilities

Set up and configure new fire alarm, security, and suppression systems, including wiring and device placement
Perform routine inspections, test components (detectors, control panels, sirens), clean devices, replace batteries, and fix malfunctions
Diagnose and resolve technical issues, responding to service calls and emergency situations
Ensure all work meets NFPA 72, local, and state codes; complete detailed inspection reports and activity logs
Explain system operation to clients and provide effective solutions for their needs
Stay updated on the latest fire safety regulations and standards

Required

Troubleshooting issues and conducting inspections (like smoke detectors, egress lights, extinguishers)
Reading blueprints and documenting work for commercial and residential clients
Perform routine inspections, test components (detectors, control panels, sirens), clean devices, replace batteries, and fix malfunctions
Diagnose and resolve technical issues, responding to service calls and emergency situations
Ensure all work meets NFPA 72, local, and state codes; complete detailed inspection reports and activity logs
Explain system operation to clients and provide effective solutions for their needs
Stay updated on the latest fire safety regulations and standards
Ability to read blueprints/schematics, use hand/power tools, differentiate wires, and perform basic programming
Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and ability to work independently

NICET certification is a plus
