Business Development Manager

Responsibilities
Opportunity Hunting: Aggressively seek out new business opportunities within new and existing customer accounts by asking probing questions on adjacent applications, uncovering unmet or emerging needs, and aligning them with our Grid Modernization solutions portfolio
Order Progression & Reporting: Coordinate order processing and own reporting on closed and pending orders to ensure operational efficiency and provide management with clear visibility into business growth and upcoming opportunities
Business Development Integration: Drive and align business development efforts across Keysight organizations for the Grid Modernization Initiative, encompassing Grid Modeling, Power and Energy Systems, Cybersecurity, and Communications technologies
Pre-Sales Strategy: Provide strategic insights and solution alignment to support pre-sales engagements and customer success
Sales Enablement : Co-develop sales tools, resources, and enablement strategies to expand global reach and enhance Keysight’s market impact
Sales Team Collaboration: Partner with account managers during customer engagements by providing expertise on the Grid Modernization portfolio and articulating plausible customer use cases
Sales Funnel Management: Oversee pipeline development, channel strategy, and conversion tracking
New Account Acquisition: Proactively identify, qualify, and secure new customer accounts across the energy ecosystem
Account Strategy: Develop and execute key account plans, acting as the primary point of contact to build and maintain strong customer relationships
Customer Engagement: Manage customer inquiries, requests, and feedback to ensure satisfaction and responsiveness
Relationship Development: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key customers, industry stakeholders, solution partners, and internal cross-functional teams to support strategy and long-term growth
Customer Insight: Capture and communicate customer-driven insights from grid modernization engagements to help inform strategic planning, solution development, and portfolio direction
Domain Fluency: Maintain broad knowledge across grid modernization domains - including DER integration, energy management systems, grid interconnection, grid modeling, cybersecurity, and smart grid communications - to engage in explorative customer dialogue for uncovering opportunities and mapping them to our portfolio of solutions. High-level knowledge and awareness of key codes and standards across the energy ecosystem (e.g., interconnection, communications, cybersecurity, DER integration) is a strong plus
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is strongly preferred (Physical Science or Engineering). The successful candidate's educational background may also include an undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Operations, or another relevant industry-related field
10+ years in business development, sales, or strategic account management in energy or technology sectors
Familiarity with DER integration, energy management systems, grid modeling, cybersecurity, and smart grid communications
Proven success in identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities
Strong relationship-building skills across cultures and disciplines
Experience in account planning, pipeline management, and aligning business development with company goals
Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to convey technical solutions clearly
Effective cross-functional team player
Ability to translate customer feedback into strategic direction
Proficiency in CRM and sales reporting tools
Experience representing solutions at industry events
Preferred
Master's degree in a related field or an MBA is a plus
Awareness of key energy ecosystem standards (e.g., interconnection, cybersecurity, communications) is a strong plus
