California Public Utilities Commission is seeking a Legislative Analyst to support the Deputy Director of Government Affairs. The role involves advising on state policy and budget issues, conducting policy analyses, and preparing reports and recommendations related to energy, telecommunications, broadband, and water policy.

Responsibilities
Support the work of the Deputy Director of Government Affairs in advising the Director of the Public Advocates Office on issues related to state policy and budget
Conducting policy analyses
Preparing reports on legislation and state budget issues
Preparing recommendations and advising on energy, telecommunications, broadband, and water policy
Qualification
Required
Experience and abilities to analyze energy, telecommunications and broadband, and/or water policies
Experience and abilities to write clearly, persuasively, and concisely, including the ability to identify issues and recommend effective courses of action
Experience in developing advocacy and negotiation strategies in connection with high-profile, high-stake issues
Completed applications and all required documents must be received or postmarked by the Final Filing Date in order to be considered
Individuals who are currently in the classification, eligible for lateral transfer, eligible for reinstatement, have list or LEAP eligibility, are in the process of obtaining list eligibility, or have SROA and/or Surplus eligibility must apply
