Responsibilities
Perform specimen collection
Responsible for proper storage of specimens
Prepare specimens for transport
Perform all point of care testing and quality testing to meet College of American Pathologists (CAP)/Joint Commission and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) standards
Review provider orders
Maintain up to date knowledge of new laboratory standards and information
Keep accurate records, such as quality control and temperature monitoring in laboratory areas
Commit to patient identification and excellence in customer service
Qualification
Required
High school or GED equivalent
Successful completion of OSF Phlebotomy class within 6 months of hire (if OSF Phlebotomy class has not been previously completed and/or does not have previous phlebotomy experience)
Preferred
Previous phlebotomy experience or training
Successful completion of OSF Phlebotomy class
Electronic Medical Record
Microsoft application basic proficiency
