They are seeking a Patient Financial Counselor to manage self-pay account collections, assist patients with billing issues, and establish payment plans in accordance with hospital policies.

Responsibilities
Responsible for all self-pay account collections
Establishing payment plans with patients as necessary in accordance with hospital policies, along with timely monitoring of those accounts
Assisting patients with billing issues and questions
Assisting patients with complaints regarding their accounts
Meeting with patients to determine uncompensated care within the guidelines of the organization’s financial assistance program
Monitors and refers accounts to collections in accordance with hospital policies
Assists the collection agency with questions and follow-up and approval of accounts for law suits
Process returned mail and update accounts with correct addresses
Respond to all phone calls from patients, insurance companies or other departments in an efficient and courteous manner
Qualification
Required
Two year or greater education degree preferred with a preference in accounting or related business type of field
Minimum of two years healthcare or insurance experience preferred
Strong computer skills are required; Microsoft Word and Excel experience are preferred
Excellent communication skills required
Excellent customer service skills required
Ability to handle multiple priorities and prioritize as needed
Preferred
Prior Epic experience is preferred
