Responsibilities

This position is responsible for planning, developing, and executing quality control checks by identifying critical points based on data analysis or stakeholder requests
The technician also manages the creation and deployment of these checks within electronic systems, making them accessible via HMI/tablet interfaces on the production floor
Implement actions for ERGO improvements
Maintain a clear record of changes implemented and use this information to initiate quality inspections (pre-containment) to prevent issues with new implementations
Identify, define, and implement appropriate quality control checks based on data trends, engineering input, or operational needs
Configure and maintain quality check instructions and workflows in digital systems to support real-time data collection and operator usability
Analyze quality data to assess the effectiveness of existing checks, recommending adjustments or removal of redundant or low-value checks
Propose and develop new checks to address emerging issues, process changes, or customer requirements
Develop and maintain internal quality standards, work instructions, and procedures aligned with company and industry best practices
Support continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional teams to address root causes and implement corrective actions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to GA quality processes and standards
Ability to execute problem-solving and document the process
Ability to perform internal audits

Required

1 year at Rivian or equivalent prior manufacturing experience in an OEM environment
Good planning and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment
Communication skills across various levels of leadership
Work autonomously, self-directed problem solver
Ability to use/read: Basic 3D Exp CAD; MS Office (Excel, Word, Power point), Outlook, Delmia, Jira system: RCRs, PCDs preferred
Experience using MES and/or HMI screens
Currently a technician or in current role, current area for 6 months
Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day
Required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds
Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather
Demonstrated analytical skills

Preferred

Associate degree or technical trades education is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
General Assembly experience is preferred
Previous experience as Process or Quality System Auditor
8D or similar method problem-solving experience
Understanding with DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans
Understanding of Statistical process control/control charts
Familiarity with quality standards: ISO/TS 16949, ISO 9001
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
