Inside Higher Ed is seeking an Information Systems Instructor who will report directly to the department head. The primary responsibilities include teaching courses, designing curriculum, evaluating student performance, and advising students in Microsoft Applications and related subjects.

Responsibilities

Teaching courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction
Designing and developing curriculum
Evaluating student performance
Advising students
Teaching Microsoft Applications and related courses using effective teaching strategies
Developing, revising, and maintaining course materials
Recommending/designing new programs
Maintaining office hours
Participating in appropriate professional development
Participating in college and community activities
Promoting the mission of the college
Developing and implementing retention strategies
Assisting in graduate placement
Assisting students with program advising and registration
Serving on college committees
Assisting department head with administrative responsibilities
Maintaining office hours
Teaching at varying locations and sites
Using varying teaching methods to include online teaching and accomplishing course objectives

Qualification

Microsoft OfficeInstructional techniquesCurriculum developmentStudent advisingCustomer service skillsProfessional developmentInterpersonal skills

Required

Master's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or a closely related field
Minimum of 18 graduate hours in Computer Science/Information Technology

Preferred

Strong background in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
Demonstrate a solid commitment to student success
Proficient in modern business office applications and instructional techniques and methodologies
Committed to continuous professional development in the ever-changing field of information systems
Eager to deliver current knowledge to students using state-of-the-art techniques and technologies in educational settings
Possess exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
Able to work in an environment characterized by frequent changes in information technology
