Start in 2026 SummerFarm Bureau Financial Services has an accounting internship opportunity available for individuals to gain accounting experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. As a PC Accounting Intern, you will assist in financial reporting, month-end processes, and gain exposure to various accounting systems.

Responsibilities
Assist in the financial reporting and analysis for the PC Companies
Aid in the month-end processes such as preparing loss analytics and updating catastrophe loss metrics
Help with settlements, individual claim billings, receipts, and research related to non-storm events like wildfires and winter storms
Balance, reconcile, and record financial transactions
Perform detailed reconciliations for bank and suspense accounts
Qualification
Required
Be a junior/senior working towards a bachelor's degree in the field of Accounting, or Finance
Ability to work full-time (8am-4:30pm M-F) during summer 2026, in-person at our Home Office in West Des Moines, IA
Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Have strong communication skills, sense of initiative and teamwork
Have a strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
Must possess good problem-solving skills
Experienced in Microsoft Excel
