Diesel Engine Technician -- KUMDC5698739
Compunnel Inc. is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Technician with experience in tools and automotive or heavy equipment work. The primary responsibility of this role is the tear down of 60L and 78L engines, involving the use of cranes and hand tools to disassemble engine parts.
Responsibilities
Assist in the teardown and disassembly of high-horsepower diesel engines using hand and power tools
Clean and inspect engine components to ensure readiness for the next production stage
Operate cranes and lifting equipment to safely handle heavy engine components
Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards
Report work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards
Comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards, policies, and procedures
Use appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Promote a safety-first, interdependent work culture by looking out for teammates
Identify, correct, and report hazards within scope and capability
Follow all standard work instructions, quality procedures, and process documentation (SPC, poka-yoke, visual standards)
Perform quality inspections and identify non-conforming materials
Raise quality or cost-related issues to minimize production risk
Achieve production goals by meeting required cycle times or engineering standards
Maintain a clean, organized work area including housekeeping and machine cleaning
Perform basic operator care and maintenance tasks
Remain flexible and perform additional duties as needed to meet production demands
Communicate effectively with team members, skilled trades, and support staff
Participate in training, personal development, and continuous improvement activities
Contribute to improvements in safety, quality, process efficiency, and material flow
Qualification
Required
Automotive or diesel repair experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical competency
Experience using hand tools and power tools
Strong attention to detail
Production-oriented mindset
Commitment to safety and quality standards
Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment
Ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervisors
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience
Preferred
Experience working with heavy equipment or large engines
Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems and inspections
Prior experience in engine teardown or rebuild environments
