The Fixed Assets Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the integrity of capital asset records and managing the full lifecycle of university assets, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and audit requirements.

Responsibilities
Maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity within UNC Pembroke by tracking, monitoring, and accounting for university property and fixed assets, both tangible and intangible
Recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets, maintaining records of existing assets, and accounting for depreciation and disposition
Updating the fixed asset policy and procedures manual, revising training modules to reflect current standards, tagging and entering asset data into AssetWorks, and conducting annual inventories to verify accuracy
Collaborating with the UNCP Surplus Property Coordinator to obtain records related to surplus fixed asset equipment sales and recycling, and with departmental asset custodians to ensure accurate inventory tracking
Assisting with general duties in the Controller’s Office, including scanning, ordering supplies, and conducting research to support office operations
Providing excellent customer service to the campus community while safeguarding compliance with audit and reporting requirements
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience
Strong understanding of capital asset accounting principles, including classification, capitalization thresholds, depreciation methods, and compliance with state and GASB standards
Ability to maintain audit-defensible records
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with auditors and campus stakeholders
Preferred
Technical expertise in capital asset accounting
Experience in asset management systems such as AssetWorks
Familiarity with Banner and UNC FIT compliance standards
An associate's degree in accounting or a related field
