Associate Manager, Toy Marketing - Dolls

Responsibilities

Assist in gaining buy-in to global toy strategies across all levels and with Disney, as well as executional commitment from internal partners to activate across key markets and key lines of business
Partner with Mattel leadership and Disney to build 3 – 5 year toy product roadmaps, balancing innovation and refresh cycles
Support toy pricing architecture and competitive positioning decisions
Work closely with the Product Design, Packaging and Development teams to bring compelling toys to market on time and on budget, backed by Consumer Insights
Communicate regularly with regional marketing teams to understand performance and ensure channel and retailer-specific needs are met
Monitor key trends, brands and competitors’ performance in all markets
Own toy business performance (revenue, margin, SKU productivity)
Manage the merchandising outline and the cadence for how and when product gets to shelf
Collaborate with Brand Marketing to brief and deliver strategies, messaging and feature storytelling for global marketing campaigns and assets
Work with other Mattel Global Brand teams to share global plans and best practices
Present with confidence to drive brand strategy and products

Required

5+ years (3 years with MBA) experience in marketing, preferably in product development
Roles in category management, product marketing or product development
Background in CPG or toy companies, ideally with exposure to retail buyer dynamics
Experience partnering with licensors to deliver impactful product strategy
Experience managing complex product development timelines
Experience partnering with design and manufacturing
Strong quantitative/financial skills (forecasting, pricing, SKU productivity analysis)
Ability to define toy segments, pricing ladders and innovation cycles for product strategies and roadmaps
Ability to comfortably collaborate with creative, engineering and manufacturing teams
Ability to leverage insights to build mass, specialty and e-commerce distribution strategies for retail
Strong grasp of SKU productivity, margin targets and overall toy category P&L
Experience with P&L at the brand or category level
Excellent at storytelling, presentations and influencing senior leadership. Strong PowerPoint creation and presentation skills, proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel
Highly organized, independent and detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills
Strong time management, planning and project execution skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid collaborative relationships
