Financial Analyst

AMERICAN SOFTWARE LLC is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the Utility line of business with business planning processes. The role involves preparing annual cost plans, assisting in budget preparation, and supporting month-end closing activities while collaborating with clients to drive improved business results.

Responsibilities

Responsible for working with the client to prepare and create the annual cost plan in SAP and PCM specifically focused on O&M and Capital costs
Support the month end, quarter end and year-end closing processes. These can include creating and maintaining journal entries, conducting actual vs. plan variance analysis and creating ad-hoc analyses
Preparation of reports or analyses specifically requested by the client
Assist in analyzing results and identify areas of opportunities for efficiency and cost savings

Required

Bachelor's or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field

Ability to interact with all levels of management
Experience with Excel or databases
Bachelor's (Required)
Financial analysis: 3 years (Required)
Strong Data Analytics, Data Conversions: 2 years (Required)
Reg Discvry, SAP Extract data, run reports, analytics Excel: 2 years (Required)
Strong Excel H / V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, etc: 2 years (Required)
Newark, NJ 07102: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Preferred

Knowledge in use and application of SAP planning tools, models, techniques and processes
