Responsibilities

Developing components for ignition systems
Managing and directing changes in engine components
Facilitating continuous improvement in system performance and fuel economy
Carrying out engineering root cause analyses and corrective actions
Working closely with designers and CAE groups to optimize designs
Using DFMEA to identify and rate risks
Building a robust DVP&R for testing reliability goals
Initiating source packages
Holding APQP meetings during development phase
Ordering prototype parts
Carrying out and monitoring DV and PV testing
Participating in post-test reviews including failure analysis
Involved in all aspects of product launch including component, system, engine, and vehicle testing
Conducting manufacturing reviews
Developing service procedures
Managing production launch and change management

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related degree field
5 years of relevant engine component design and release experience
Knowledge of design tools and practices, e.g. CAD, CAE, CFD, FEA, GD&T is required
Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as experience with basic PC software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project)
Highly self motivated, self-directed, have the ability to manage multiple complex projects, and have a positive attitude
Good working knowledge of internal combustion engine operations
Experience using electrical measurement tools such as Oscilloscope

Preferred

Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Previous experience in development of automotive ignition systems
Familiarity with ignition coils and ignition system designs
Familiarity with microcontroller design desirable
Six Sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt certification
Experience in testing electrical systems – ignition systems
