Hardware Design Engineer

Sky Limit Systems is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to support the development of advanced electronic systems within the automotive industry. The role involves designing, testing, and validating hardware components for vehicle control, safety, infotainment, and power systems.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize electronic hardware for automotive applications, including analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits
Create schematics, PCB layouts, and hardware documentation using industry-standard CAD/EDA tools
Select automotive-grade components and ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO 26262, AEC-Q100/200, EMI/EMC requirements)
Work with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware into larger vehicle systems and ensure compatibility with software and mechanical constraints
Support prototype builds, bench testing, debugging, and validation of hardware designs
Conduct design reviews, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions for hardware-related issues
Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, and test engineering to ensure smooth production readiness and quality standards
Generate hardware requirements and contribute to system-level architecture decisions

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
2–5+ years of experience in hardware design
Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, etc.)
Strong understanding of analog/digital circuit design, power electronics, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC considerations
Experience with testing and debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Preferred

Automotive experience preferred
Familiarity with automotive standards and lifecycle processes (ISO 26262, APQP, PPAP is a plus)
