Responsibilities
Develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under the direct supervision of a Registered Sleep Technologist
Works under the supervision of a registered sleep technologist/shift supervisor/and or program manager
Qualification
Required
Successful completion of a STAR-designated Focused education program, A-STEP Self Study Program and passing the RPSGT exam is required within one year of hire
High school diploma or GED plus 6 months of direct patient care experience or 1 year of post-secondary education is required
Obtain/Maintain BCLS Certification required
Appropriate social skills with emphasis on customer service skills is required
Demonstrate ability to follow direction
While performing the duties of this job, the technician is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear
The technician is required to walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasional lift/move up to 50 pounds
Must possess visual abilities for close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Preferred
Effective written and verbal communication skills desired
