The Building Automation & Controls Startup Technician is responsible for mechanical HVAC equipment start-up, checkout and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
Perform duties associated with mechanical system startup, such as troubleshooting and resolving various operational problems with HVAC mechanical systems
Assist in the service of mechanical and control systems that are under Bassett contract
Assist in the coordination, install and start-up of mechanical and control systems as requested
Assist in design, coordination, wiring and other work as assigned
Attend classes and/or apprenticeship classes as required to increase knowledge of HVAC and controls
Support and maintain a safe and Lean working environment
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Responsible for mechanical HVAC equipment start-up, checkout and troubleshooting
Perform duties associated with mechanical system startup, such as troubleshooting and resolving various operational problems with HVAC mechanical systems
Assist in the service of mechanical and control systems that are under Bassett contract
Assist in the coordination, install and start-up of mechanical and control systems as requested

Support and maintain a safe and Lean working environment
Good electrical knowledge
Good organizational skills
Ability to travel
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong computer skills
Must be physically able to enter restricted or confined spaces (air handlers, ducts, etc.) for first hand observation or inspection
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
Preferred
Journeyman, associate degree or equivalent experience with HVAC systems preferred
