Payroll and A/P Manager
AMLB is seeking a Payroll & Accounts Payable Manager to lead and further build a centralized, high-performing payroll function while expanding its mandate to include accounts payable. This fully remote leadership role focuses on providing day-to-day leadership to a small team and ensuring operational excellence in payroll and AP services.

Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a small payroll team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and service standards
Own quality assurance and review processes for payroll deliverables, implementing controls to reduce risk and improve consistency
Provide leadership on complex payroll matters and ensure consistent handling of exceptions
Oversee end-to-end payroll operations using cloud-based tools, ensuring compliance and timely delivery
Lead the integration of accounts payable into the function, including workflow design, documentation, and staged transition
Design, document, and continuously improve payroll and AP processes, including training materials and standard operating procedures
Own and improve client communication related to payroll and AP, ensuring a proactive, responsive, and high-touch service experience
Partner cross-functionally with cloud accounting and leadership teams to coordinate client needs and operational changes
Qualification
Required
Minimum experience: Manager/Supervisor
Experience in payroll and accounting operations leadership
Strong track record managing people, processes, and client service in a fast-paced, cloud-based environment
Deep knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation
Ideally supported by a PCP designation
Experience leading payroll teams rather than focusing solely on transactional processing
Comfort implementing quality controls
Experience designing scalable workflows
Experience developing documentation and training in growing environments
Exposure to accounts payable
Interest in leading integration of accounts payable into a centralized function
Client-first mindset
Comfort operating in a fully remote, technology-enabled setting
Proactive and entrepreneurial attitude
