Commercial Sales Engineer - West Michigan

Carrier Great Lakes is a Heating, Ventilating, & Air Conditioning (HVAC) wholesaler in Michigan and Northern Ohio. They are seeking a Commercial Sales Engineer to focus on generating product sales and maintaining customer relationships while providing design/application support and project management. The role involves developing new business opportunities and ensuring customer satisfaction through post-sale visits and account management.

Responsibilities

Primary focus on generating Carrier Great Lakes Commercial product sales including, but not limited to, Rooftop Units, Split Systems, Building Automation, DOAS Units, and Ductless & VRF Systems through pre-sale design/application support, quoting plan & spec take-offs, and design build projects
Maintain relationships with established accounts to maximize sales opportunities
Develop new business through prospecting & account acquisition to maximize sales
Maintaining and update project quote files
Follow-Up on projects post-bid to ensure high closure rate
Have a thorough knowledge of all CGL products available
Provide post sale jobsite visits when needed to achieve customer satisfaction
Establishing and maintaining good relations with customers by providing prompt and courteous service for all customers, both in person and over the phone

Required

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 years HVAC sales experience
Experience selling to Contractors, Consulting Engineers, and Owner community
Knowledge of HVAC design and application tools
Exceptional interpersonal communication, negotiation skills, and customer focus
Qualified candidates will have both a business and a technical background
Good computer skills and common software literacy
Efficient at Microsoft Office
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Solid critical thinking, problem-solving and planning skills
High level of personal accountability; sense of urgency and self-initiative is a must
Highly motivated self-starter, able to work with minimal direction required from management

Preferred

Experience working with HVAC contractors & engineers
Knowledge of a distribution environment
Bachelor's (Preferred)
HVAC sales: 5 years (Preferred)
