The Payroll Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple states, while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states with accuracy and timeliness
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
Calculate overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, and retroactive pay with precision and fairness
Maintain accurate payroll records, including deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions
Review payroll registers and reports for accuracy; research and resolve discrepancies promptly
Partner with HR on new hires, terminations, pay changes, timekeeping, and benefits updates to ensure a smooth employee experience
Serve as a trusted resource for employees, responding to inquiries regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and payroll policies with clarity and care
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and assist with internal and external audits
Uphold strict confidentiality and protect sensitive employee information at all times
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll best practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems; experience with UKG is a plus
High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred
2+ years of payroll processing experience for hourly and salaried employees preferred
